Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Gainwell Technologies is in search of a highly proficient AI and Generative AI Engineer to conceptualize, create, and implement advanced AI and Gen AI solutions within our healthcare technology platforms.

• This position entails developing and enhancing AI and Gen AI technologies, integrating them into current systems, and ensuring their effectiveness in enhancing healthcare outcomes and operational efficiency while adhering to industry standards.

• The role is solely focused on product development and does not entail access to Protected Health Information (PHI) & Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or any secured/confidential client data.

• Development based on AI/Gen AI – Design, construct, and train machine learning, deep learning, time series models, Gen AI (Multi-modal LLMs), predictive analytics, Natural Language Processing, and Image Processing solutions for healthcare applications.

• Proficient in various LLM fine-tuning techniques.

• Experienced in creating Gen AI solutions utilizing RAG architecture.

• Competent in both Lang Chain and Lang Graph.

• Familiar with Agentic AI Frameworks and Workflow using Lang Chain, Lang Graph, Crew AI, or Open AI Swarm.

• Knowledgeable in various Vector Databases and Graph Databases; skilled in the Agentic AI Framework and has developed at least one solution using Agentic AI.

• End-to-End AI Solution Deployment – Design, test, and implement AI solutions in both cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and tangible impact.

• Data Processing – Handle large healthcare datasets, performing data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model training while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.

• System Integration – Proficient in API development and integrations. Implement and enhance AI models within Gainwell’s existing technology stack, collaborating with software engineers for seamless integration.

• Experienced in ML Ops and LLM Ops.

• Skilled in evaluating models and conducting continuous performance monitoring of both ML/DL and LLMs.

• Experienced in applying security measures in Gen AI solutions, incorporating guard rails.

• Performance Optimization – Continuously assess, refine, and enhance AI / Gen AI models for precision, efficiency, and speed, leveraging ML Ops and LLM Ops best practices.

• AI Research & Innovation – Keep abreast of the latest AI/ML/Gen AI advancements, exploring new technologies and methodologies to improve solution effectiveness.

• Compliance & Security – Ensure AI implementations comply with healthcare industry regulations, ethical AI principles, and data privacy standards.

• Automation & Workflow Enhancement – Identify opportunities to automate workflows and optimize business processes through AI-driven solutions.

• Front End Development – Proficiency in Streamlit is essential, with knowledge of React, Angular, or Vue.js being a plus.

• Leadership Skills – Capable of functioning as a team lead, interfacing with team leads from other functions/departments, understanding business requirements, and translating them into feasible development and deployment solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 12 years of experience in AI/ML engineering, focusing on the development and deployment of AI solutions.

• Practical expertise in machine learning, deep learning, Gen AI (multi-modal LLMs), NLP, and computer vision.

• Strong programming skills in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other AI frameworks.

• Experience in developing, deploying, and fine-tuning LLMs (GPT, Gemini, Claude, or similar) for real-world applications, including prompt engineering, model optimization, and inference efficiency.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and MLOps for scalable AI deployments.

• Proficient in big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, SQL, NoSQL databases).

• Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to convert business challenges into AI-driven solutions.

• Knowledge of healthcare AI applications and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, CMS) is an advantage.

• Understanding of business use cases, excellent interpersonal skills, architectural skills, and the ability to persuade multiple stakeholders.
