This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the Asia Pacific regional office on issues related to Child Protection and Education, encompassing technical programming, safeguarding, and external positioning.
• Enhance the capabilities of Field Offices in areas such as education and child protection programming, advocacy, external engagement, digital literacy, data analysis, partnerships, and contextualization.
• Create and implement innovative and adaptable strategies to tackle the evolving challenges in child education and protection.
• Represent the South Asia and Pacific Regional Office in key strategic networks and forums focused on child protection and education.
• Lead regional Communities of Practice for Child Protection and Education and engage in relevant global Communities of Practice.
• Offer technical guidance on program design, execution, evaluation, safeguarding integration, and alignment with global strategies.
• Analyze education and child protection data to detect trends and support decision-making at the regional and Field Office levels.
• Transform evidence and insights into actionable recommendations for program adjustments, advocacy, donor engagement, and external influence.
• Assist in the expansion of the regional Child Participation platform and related country-level initiatives.
• Mentor Field Office Education Leads and aid in the annual monitoring of education impacts, data quality assurance, and regional education impact assessments.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of education curricula focusing on primary literacy and adolescent life skills.
• Execute pilot projects utilizing digital applications, SMS platforms, and social media campaigns.
• Establish and cultivate strategic partnerships with regional coalitions, networks, civil society organizations, and key stakeholders.
• Support the development of concept notes, proposals, donor engagement materials, funding, research, advocacy, and programming initiatives.
• Enhance the regional evidence base through research, data utilization, knowledge management, and thought leadership.
• Provide overall technical leadership and support to colleagues in both regional and Field Office settings.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
• A Master’s degree or equivalent in Education, Social Work, International Development, Child Development, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience living and working in the Asia-Pacific region.
• Strong technical expertise in education and child protection, particularly in literacy and numeracy for ages 6–11 and adolescent life skills.
• A minimum of five years of project management experience in an international NGO.
• Highly developed skills in external engagement and networking.
• Proficient project management skills, including research and development of programming models.
• Exceptional writing abilities as demonstrated through technical documents, thought leadership pieces, and proposals.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency.
• Capability to inspire and develop team members.
• Experience in leading a task force or Community of Practice.
• Understanding of safeguarding risks and challenges, including child protection and the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse.
• Strong knowledge of global strategies and frameworks aimed at ending violence against children and supporting primary and secondary education and life skills.
• Familiarity with legal international conventions related to child protection.
• Proficient negotiation, networking, liaison, and donor engagement skills.
• Proficient in using Excel, Microsoft Suite products, databases, and statistical software.
• High-level influence, strategic engagement, and tactical delivery abilities.
• Capacity to think broadly and assess macro strategic issues to guide strategy choices and management.
• Demonstrated proficiency in both written and spoken English.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
