Senior ADHD Specialist, Independent Prescriber

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based prescribing for ADHD in line with national guidelines and internal protocols.

• Handle a larger clinical caseload while ensuring quality, safety, and a positive patient experience.

• Conduct End of Titration Reviews and annual medication assessments.

• Evaluate, initiate, adjust, and monitor ADHD medications.

• Engage with patients via the secure patient portal.

• Perform risk assessments, identify safeguarding issues, and escalate as necessary.

• Collaborate in multidisciplinary meetings with Consultant Psychiatrists, prescribers, and operational team members.

• Keep accurate, timely, and legally compliant clinical records.

• Contribute to clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Stay updated on ADHD guidelines, prescribing laws, and professional standards.

• Identify opportunities for improvements in prescribing pathways, patient experiences, and service efficiency.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a registered first-level Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or a first-level Adult, Children’s, or Learning Disabilities Nurse.

• A minimum of one year post-qualification experience in secondary mental health services or additional training is preferred for non-Mental Health Nurse pathways.

• Qualification in Independent & Supplementary Non-Medical Prescribing (V300) is mandatory.

• At least one year of experience following the prescribing qualification.

• A minimum of four years of clinical experience in ADHD prescribing roles within private or NHS settings.

• Proficient in ADHD medication titration, conducting medication reviews, and managing long-term ADHD treatment.

• Possess advanced prescribing skills and exceptional clinical judgment.

• Experienced in managing complex patient cases across the ADHD pathway.

• Strong understanding of side-effect management and treatment optimization.

• Capable of making autonomous clinical decisions.

• Ability to contribute effectively to multidisciplinary discussions.

• Skilled in maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

• Knowledgeable about safeguarding principles.

• Comfortable using electronic patient record systems and digital communication tools.

• Competent in computer literacy and effective written and verbal communication.

• Applicants must be residents of the UK.
