This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create actuarial pricing models utilizing a range of methodologies.

• Generate reports, share insights, and provide recommendations to aid corporate decision-making.

• Foster the growth of fellow team members and engage in continuous improvement of departmental processes.

• Collaborate with various departments on business initiatives and actuarial projects.

• Assist in gathering market intelligence and competitive product insights.

• Prepare and evaluate rate indications.

• Compile rate filings.

• Conduct multivariate analysis to enhance pricing and supporting models.

• Develop, refine, validate, and deploy machine learning models.

• Execute complex actuarial analyses to assess and quantify risks.

• Suggest and evaluate the effects of alternatives and risk mitigation strategies.

• Design and validate intricate statistical and actuarial models.

• Collect and manipulate extensive datasets to address business challenges.

• Mentor and guide team members.

• Lead actuarial projects, oversee timelines, and collaborate with stakeholders.

• Monitor key performance indicators of the portfolio and report findings to leadership.

• Recommend enhancements to rating structures and algorithms.

• Work closely with product management, underwriting, claims, and operations teams.

• Supervise tracking reports that measure the effectiveness of new rating structures.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in Actuarial Science, Business, or Mathematics & Applied Science.

• At least 4 years of actuarial experience for the Senior Actuarial Analyst position.

• Minimum of 8 years of actuarial experience for the Actuarial Consultant role.

• Experience in the Property & Casualty insurance sector is preferred.

• Significant progress towards associate-level actuarial exams through the Casualty Actuarial Society or Canadian Institute of Actuaries for the Senior Actuarial Analyst position.

• FCIA or FCAS designation required for the Actuarial Consultant role.

• Title and compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and completed actuarial exams.

• Competence in developing, validating, and implementing statistical, actuarial, and machine learning models.

• Skill in gathering, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets.

• Proficiency in preparing rate indications and filings.

• Ability to perform multivariate analysis and enhance pricing algorithms.
