Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute all follow-up and denial processes.

• Accountable for directly engaging with commercial, governmental, and other payers to address claim payment challenges.

• Analyze trends in denied payments by insurance companies to address and resolve issues.

• Collaborate with various departments to tackle denial issues and timely submit technical and clinical appeals.

• Guide AR Specialist team members to enhance their skills in the follow-up, denials, and appeals processes.

• Monitor clean claim delays from payors and document issues in the escalation spreadsheets.

• Support leadership with special initiatives aimed at reducing accounts receivable and accelerating cash flow.

• Review denied and other unpaid claims to identify reasons for discrepancies.

• Exhibit initiative in resolving complex claims and proactively provide recommendations to management.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of experience in medical collections, physician/hospital operations, AR follow-up, denials & appeals, compliance, provider relations, or professional billing is preferred.

• Must possess basic computer skills and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Internal candidates must have achieved 120% productivity and 98% quality assurance in each of the last three months.

• External candidates are expected to meet quality and productivity standards by day 90.

• Exceptional verbal communication skills.

• Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to assess accounts and develop a collection strategy.

• Critical thinking skills, with the ability to understand tools provided for securing payment and apply them to various accounts to achieve payment.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing procedures and a dynamic environment.

• Adhere to quality and productivity standards within established timelines.
