Senior Accounts Receivable Accountant – Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Reports to the Accounts Receivable Manager and ensures the accounting of the loan receivable balance adheres to GAAP standards.

• Designs and implements financial controls and reporting systems to guarantee timely payments and loan adjustments.

• Develops and enforces internal controls and procedures to protect company assets.

• Processes various payment methods (checks, ACH, credit card, wire transfers) and allocates them to customer accounts.

• Reconciles customer accounts, investigates discrepancies, and resolves billing issues effectively.

• Identifies opportunities for automation and enhancements in operational processes.

• Collaborates with Legal, Compliance, and Account Servicing teams to address errors.

• Works alongside external auditors during financial statement and SOC 1 audits.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.

• CPA certification is preferred.

• A minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience or 3 years of public accounting experience is required.

• Experience and a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP are essential.

• Financial industry experience is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy is necessary.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.

• Experience working with large data sets is preferred.

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment is necessary.
