This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Execute advanced accounting functions for the organization.
• Maintain and analyze the general ledger.
• Prepare both routine and complex journal entries for the general ledger.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations for intricate accounts.
• Review and analyze data to ensure precision and adherence to regulations.
• Compile monthly financial reporting packages.
• Generate external financial reports, including regulatory submissions.
• Create reports for ad-hoc requests utilizing Excel or general ledger software.
• Engage in presenting financial statements during Finance Committee and Board meetings.
• Assist with year-end audit requests and contribute to the preparation of audited financial statements.
• Prepare financial reports as mandated by various regulatory bodies.
• Foster and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments.
• Provide support and training to colleagues.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience may be considered.
• Experience in health insurance is preferred.
• Background in public accounting or financial reporting (tax and/or regulatory) is preferred.
• CPA license is preferred.
• Mastery of essential accounting functions within the organization (e.g., IBNR, Medicare estimates, Risk Corridors, Financial Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Tax Reporting, Audit, Reporting software).
• Strong understanding of GAAP and relevant laws and regulations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of internal controls and departmental policies and procedures.
• Ability to interpret data, with strong research and analytical capabilities.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., advanced formulas, SUMIFs, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and effective use of formulas and graphs).
