This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +4 more states.
• Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for the Company's primary operating segment, encompassing U.S. and Canadian operations.
• Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and other accounting adjustments in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Conduct account reconciliations and thorough analyses of balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure precision and completeness.
• Investigate and address accounting discrepancies, unusual transactions, and variances.
• Aid in the development of month-end financial packages and management reports that facilitate operational and strategic decision-making.
• Contribute to the design, implementation, and upkeep of internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting, asset protection, compliance, and operational efficiency.
• Guarantee compliance with established accounting policies, procedures, and closing timelines.
• Assist with audit requests and provide necessary documentation for external auditors, tax advisors, and other compliance-related activities.
• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, automate workflows, and boost reporting efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal teams and shared services functions to resolve non-routine inquiries from clients, vendors, and accounting-related matters.
• Engage in special projects, system implementations, integrations, and other finance initiatives as designated.
• Act as a flexible team member, offering support across various accounting and finance areas as business needs evolve.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or a combination of both.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and practical application of accounting principles.
• Experience in supporting month-end close processes, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proven ability to analyze financial statements and comprehend the impact of accounting transactions on the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
• Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the capability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, nested and complex formulas, large-volume data analysis and reconciliation, and support for financial reporting and modeling.
