Senior Accountant, Inventory Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Lead and oversee the offshore inventory accounting team, ensuring the precise and timely execution of reconciliations, transaction processing, and control activities.

• Take ownership of the quality and completeness of offshore results, offering guidance, review, and continuous coaching to foster consistency and accountability.

• Ensure the integrity of inventory transaction flow and compliance with US GAAP and SOX controls across SAP S/4HANA and JD Edwards.

• Coordinate and assist with the month-end and quarter-end close by validating offshore outputs, addressing issues, and collaborating with the wider accounting team.

• Facilitate audit processes by guaranteeing that offshore-prepared documentation and analyses are thorough, accurate, and ready for audit.

• Identify and execute process enhancements that improve efficiency, standardization, and control execution within inventory operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in inventory accounting, encompassing valuation and reconciliation.

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP (ASC‑330; familiarity with ASC‑606 is advantageous) and SOX controls, with expertise in accounting and reconciliation principles, especially concerning inventory operations.

• Proficient in ERP systems—preferably SAP S/4HANA and JD Edwards E1.

• Advanced skills in Excel and confidence in handling large data sets.

• Capability to build and maintain complex queries; experience in PowerBI development is a plus.

• Familiarity with Blackline or similar reconciliation/reporting tools is advantageous.

• A strong commitment to delivering accurate and timely results with a keen attention to detail.
