This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Responsible for monthly accounting and financial reporting.
• Prepare and assist in the creation of comprehensive financial statements.
• Aid in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure the prompt and precise preparation of monthly financial reports and associated schedules.
• Provide variance analysis against departmental budgets and highlight significant financial trends.
• Review Profit & Loss accounts to confirm correct coding, allocations, and classification across departments.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Assist with accruals, prepaids, intercompany transactions, and other month-end accounting entries.
• Contribute to ensuring that accounting records are accurate, complete, and properly documented.
• Focus on revenue recognition and SaaS accounting.
• Support the reconciliation processes related to deferred revenue and unbilled Accounts Receivable.
• Assist with revenue recognition for SaaS subscription, usage-based, recurring, or contract-based billing models.
• Review revenue-related data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adequate support.
• Assist with accounting treatments pertinent to SaaS, technology, or recurring revenue operations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies in revenue, billing, or reporting.
• Handle reconciliations, compliance, and accounting operations.
• Maintain accurate reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation.
• Help manage accounting processes related to fixed assets, including additions, disposals, amortization, and depreciation.
• Support equity-related accounting processes, including stock-based compensation or ESOP-related accounting, as applicable.
• Assist with sales tax and economic nexus research across U.S. states and international jurisdictions.
• Prepare and maintain sales tax working papers and supporting documentation.
• Support year-end close, audit requests, and compliance-related processes.
• Engage in process improvement and finance operations.
• Contribute to finance team projects, systems enhancements, and operational initiatives.
• Identify process inefficiencies and proactively suggest scalable solutions.
• Support workflow optimization as the company grows.
• Independently research and resolve accounting issues, reconciliation discrepancies, and reporting inconsistencies.
• Assist in strengthening documentation, internal controls, and accounting processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally.
• Work with Finance leadership and department heads on budget reviews and reporting analyses.
• Coordinate with external partners, including Employer of Record representatives, international tax advisors, and external auditors.
• Clearly communicate financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
• Support internal teams with accounting-related queries and financial reporting requirements.
• Collaborate closely with remote, international teams in English.
• A professional accounting designation is required, such as Colombian Public Accountant certification, CPA, or equivalent.
• 3–6+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong expertise in financial statements, month-end closing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience with U.S. accounting processes, U.S.-based companies, or international accounting environments is strongly preferred.
• Experience in SaaS, technology, startups, subscription-based businesses, or recurring revenue models is preferred.
• Understanding of deferred revenue, accruals, unbilled Accounts Receivable, and revenue recognition.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research capabilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Strong English communication skills are essential for cross-functional collaboration.
• Must be based in Colombia.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online is preferred.
• Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Familiarity with modern finance tools such as Wise, Float, Ramp, Plooto, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Knowledge of financial reporting, accounting automation, or SaaS finance platforms is an advantage.
• Comfortable working with large datasets, reconciliations, and financial schedules.
• Experience with other accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Siigo, World Office, or similar platforms is also valuable.
