Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Prepare Individual Tax Returns from inception to completion, which includes:

• - Analyzing income and expenses

• - Creating rental property schedules

• - Calculating capital gains tax

• - Developing sole trader schedules

• - Compiling client query lists

• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).

• Generate financial statements and income tax returns using Xero for:

• - Sole traders

• - Companies

• - Trusts

• Utilize ATO Online Services for Agents (ATO Portal) to retrieve reports.

• Maintain and review fixed asset registers, including assessments of effective life.

• Keep accurate bookkeeping records for a limited client base.

• Handle payroll processing and related compliance as necessary.

• Assist with registrations for ABN, TFN, and GST.

• Prepare documentation for ASIC annual reviews.

• Lodge changes with ASIC (officeholders, shareholders, addresses, company names).

• Training will be provided as needed for ASIC-related matters.

• Set up new clients in Xero Practice Manager (XPM) and document systems accordingly.

• Assist in preparing establishment paperwork for structures (company, trust, super fund).

• Ensure procedural documentation is kept up to date.

• Actively identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and value additions.

• Support various ad-hoc tax and business projects.

• Perform additional duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4+ years of experience in Australian public practice tax (essential).

• A solid background in Business Services and Tax.

• Capability to complete tasks independently and accurately.

• Proficient in:

• - Xero & Hubdoc

• - Xero Tax

• - QuickBooks / MYOB

• - Xero Practice Manager

• - SuiteFiles (highly preferred)

• Confident in using ATO portals.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

• Good proficiency in written and spoken English communication.

• Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
