Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee Project & Revenue Accounting (POC/WIP)

• Serve as the authority on ASC 606 revenue recognition for long-term contracts

• Prepare and review monthly Work In Progress (WIP) schedules, encompassing cost-to-complete, revenue recognition, and margin analysis

• Collaborate with project managers to confirm forecasts, budgets, and change orders

• Develop and uphold accounting policies and internal controls

• Lead the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including multi-entity consolidation and intercompany eliminations

• Prepare consolidated financial statements along with supporting schedules

• Enhance closing processes through standardization and automation initiatives

• Act as a primary contact for external auditors

• Prepare audit schedules, technical memorandums, and supplementary documentation

• Research and apply relevant accounting standards (ASC 606, ASC 842, etc.)

• Assist with management reporting, KPI tracking, and reporting for investors/lenders

• Support project profitability and cash flow analysis

• Identify and implement process enhancements and system upgrades

• Provide mentorship to junior team members and promote a collaborative team atmosphere

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

• 3–5+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting audit

• In-depth understanding of US GAAP, especially revenue recognition (ASC 606)

• Experience in construction, engineering, or project-based accounting (POC/WIP)

• Proficient in financial consolidations across multiple entities

• Advanced Excel capabilities and experience working with large datasets

• Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail

• CPA preferred (active or in progress)

• Experience with Big Four or top-tier audit firms

• Background in design-build, EPC, or water/wastewater sectors

• Familiarity with ERP/project accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Viewpoint, Procore)
