This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Ensure the month-end and year-end close processes are timely and accurate.
• Maintain the general ledger, guaranteeing that all financial transactions are recorded and classified correctly.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations of sales to cash receipts.
• Reconcile monthly fulfillment data to sales orders for appropriate revenue recognition.
• Execute balance sheet reconciliations, including those for bank accounts, inventory, and accruals.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies.
• Assist with external audits and tax filings by providing necessary documentation and reports.
• Identify and implement process enhancements to boost efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
• Aid in the development and enforcement of internal controls and best practices.
• Prepare semi-monthly cash burn reports.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring both accuracy and timeliness.
• Support inventory accounting, cost analysis, and revenue recognition efforts.
• Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and other teams to deliver financial insights and support business decisions.
• Utilize and optimize ERP and accounting software, with a preference for Netsuite experience.
• Support automation initiatives to enhance accounting workflows.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
• Over 4 years of accounting experience, ideally in a high-growth startup, consumer technology, or e-commerce setting.
• Prior experience in public accounting.
• Strong grasp of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel proficiency.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills at all management levels.
• Highly motivated with the capability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
