This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Act as a representative of the Controllership team in the EMEA region, primarily overseeing the daily accounting functions of the Coder UK entity.
• Take ownership of or coordinate essential monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities for the UK entity, which include journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, intercompany transactions, and reporting assistance.
• Collaborate with third-party accounting firms and advisors, potentially including BDO, to facilitate bookkeeping, statutory filings, local compliance, and other country-specific accounting requirements.
• Ensure that accounting records, supporting documentation, and reporting processes adhere to local statutory and regulatory standards in the UK and, gradually, the wider EMEA region.
• Serve as the primary contact for external audits, statutory audits, and compliance-related inquiries associated with the UK entity.
• Work closely with the global controllership team to ensure local accounting practices align with company-wide policies, closing deadlines, and internal controls.
• Assist with intercompany procedures, cash activities, invoicing processes, and other operational accounting obligations related to a global parent-subsidiary framework.
• Contribute to process improvements as we scale, focusing on accuracy, timeliness, and clear ownership among internal teams and external partners.
• Extensive accounting experience in the UK, with hands-on familiarity with local statutory requirements, financial reporting duties, and compliance at the entity level.
• Proven experience in managing accounting for a UK subsidiary of a global corporation or within a multinational context that involves cross-border reporting.
• Strong grasp of monthly closing processes, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, intercompany accounting, and fundamental operational accounting practices.
• Experience working directly with external accountants, auditors, or outsourced finance partners.
• Ability to work independently in the region while maintaining close alignment with a global controllership organization.
• Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and a pragmatic approach to developing reliable processes.
• Strong communication skills and comfort in collaborating across time zones with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Based in London or capable of closely engaging with the London market and UK entity requirements.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (Bonus).
• Experience in supporting statutory audits and assisting in year-end financial statement preparation (Bonus).
• Familiarity with working alongside firms like BDO or other outsourced accounting providers (Bonus).
• Background in a high-growth software or SaaS company (Bonus).
• Broader experience in supporting EMEA entities beyond the UK (Bonus).
• Proficiency with ERP systems, close management tools, and enhancing finance processes in a scaling environment (Bonus).
