Senior Accountant, Accounts Payable

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee and enhance the entire Procure-to-Pay process, ensuring a seamless connection between procurement workflows and accounting records.

• Assume full responsibility for the precision of accounting entries, with a clear understanding of how each transaction impacts the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.

• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities by managing intricate accruals and deferrals to guarantee accurate period cutoffs in line with HGB regulations.

• Work collaboratively with IT and cross-functional teams to improve and automate P2P workflows and financial system integrations, particularly focusing on NetSuite.

• Ensure that all Accounts Payable functions adhere to internal policies and external accounting standards (HGB).

• Act as the primary technical resource for the team, imparting extensive knowledge of accounting principles and system logic.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8 years of professional experience in Accounts Payable or General Ledger accounting, complemented by a relevant degree or certification.

• Profound understanding of HGB and demonstrated expertise in managing accruals, deferrals, and account reconciliations.

• Solid experience with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and P2P automation tools; familiarity with NetSuite is an advantage.

• Strong emphasis on data integrity, complex account reconciliations, and ongoing process enhancement.

• Fluency in English is required; good command of the German language is necessary.

• Possess agile, dynamic, and resilient qualities; comfortable operating in a fast-paced, global software setting.
