This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Implement multiple client PR programs effectively.
• Oversee account teams and initiatives to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery of results.
• Guide account teams in crafting press materials, client communications, traditional and social media strategies, outreach efforts, and client reporting.
• Proactively anticipate potential issues.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities among team members.
• Offer recommendations to meet client expectations.
• Act as a representative of both the client and agency during on-site client events.
• Handle account financials, including budget creation and management, fee estimates, out-of-pocket expenses, team hour allocations, billing, and invoicing.
• Regularly track execution to ensure adherence to budget and profitability; report budget status to agency management consistently.
• Provide clients with analyses of program outcomes.
• Formulate strategic, creative concepts and tactical elements for client initiatives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and cultivate strong relationships with key client personnel.
• Anticipate and accommodate client needs; provide recommendations accordingly.
• Respond promptly to client information requests.
• Lead client calls, meetings, and presentations; engage in client brainstorming sessions; attend client events.
• Utilize metrics and analytics to offer insights and guidance to clients regarding programs and proposals.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for client account growth.
• Maintain connections with key contacts at traditional and social media outlets; use these relationships to secure desired media coverage for the agency and/or clients.
• Prepare presentations for new business and business renewal proposals; take part in new business and/or business renewal pitches.
• Contribute to agency brainstorming sessions for client programs.
• Serve as a senior leader on agency committees when designated; engage in and promote agency initiatives, visibility efforts, and staff development.
• Show commitment to the agency’s long-term health.
• Represent the agency in professional associations; cultivate new professional connections through involvement in external organizations.
• Understand clients' businesses and relevant industry trends to develop strategic PR programs.
• Manage several accounts and projects simultaneously.
• Train and mentor junior and mid-level staff members.
• Effectively allocate work among account teams.
• Travel to client and event sites; conduct meetings with clients at their offices or headquarters.
• Exhibit strong writing, editing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrate integrity and good judgment in dealings with colleagues and clients.
• Constructively address client and personnel situations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
• Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in a public relations agency or comparable role.
• At least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
