Senior Accessibility Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Ensuring quality assurance on projects while offering constructive feedback to junior team members.

• Guiding and training new hires and junior team members to grasp our service methodology and adhere to a consistent standard.

• Conducting independent accessibility audits on web pages, desktop applications, and mobile apps, utilizing accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies.

• Composing and assessing Accessibility Conformance Reports that detail accessibility challenges and provide recommendations for solutions.

• Offering accessibility support to development teams, either through consultancy services or by contributing code snippets and suggestions.

• Staying informed about the latest advancements in accessibility and related fields.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3 – 5 years of experience in accessibility testing, with a focus on manual testing.

• Strong initiative and autonomy, along with the ability to successfully collaborate within a team (both in-person and remotely).

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI ARIA, with an understanding of the accessibility advantages and challenges these techniques present.

• Direct experience in manually testing websites to confirm compliance with WCAG 2.2 – Level AA.

• Practical experience with Assistive Technology (e.g., screen readers, magnifiers, alternative input devices) and the capability to conduct interoperability testing using these technologies.

• IAAP Web Accessibility Specialist certification or an equivalent, such as Trusted Tester Version 5 (TTV5).

• Understanding of accessibility evaluation tools and methodologies in both web and desktop environments.

• Familiarity with contemporary web application development practices and prevalent JavaScript frameworks.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting statuses, facts, thoughts, and ideas in a clear, concise, and organized manner.

• Flexibility and adaptability, able to swiftly and smoothly adjust direction based on stakeholder or management feedback while maintaining exceptional organization and meeting tight deadlines.
