Senior ABAP Developer – S/4HANA Retail

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design and build ABAP applications in an SAP S/4HANA Retail setting.

• Implement solutions using the RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) and OData services.

• Create and enhance Core Data Services (CDS) Views across analytical, consumption, and interface layers.

• Develop and refine performance-critical ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP).

• Review, maintain, refactor, and enhance the current ABAP custom codebase.

• Ensure the quality of development, maintainability, and compliance with technical standards.

• Generate technical documentation and design solutions for new features and enhancements.

• Collaborate closely with SAP functional teams to assess requirements and convert business needs into technical solutions.

• Provide knowledge transfer, technical support, and mentorship to internal development teams.

• Assist with application performance analysis and optimization as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in ABAP development or equivalent proven expertise.

• Strong practical development experience with contemporary ABAP technologies.

• Experience with at least one production SAP S/4HANA implementation.

• Practical experience in implementing RAP-based OData services.

• Extensive experience in developing CDS Views, including analytical, consumption, and interface patterns.

• Hands-on experience with ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP).

• Solid understanding of SAP MM and/or SD business processes.

• Capability to review, refactor, and optimize existing ABAP custom code.

• Proficient in business-level English communication skills.
