Security Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Facilitate security, privacy, and governance initiatives across the Microsoft 365 cloud suite.

• Aid in data readiness planning and the integration of Microsoft Purview to safeguard sensitive information.

• Assist in managing user permissions, data retention, compliance settings, and corporate policies.

• Help document and oversee Security Change Requests and audit logging solutions.

• Support Microsoft’s security and cyber architecture initiatives related to M365 services.

• Provide security and configuration assistance for SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Exchange Online, Teams, Power Platform, Copilot, Azure/Azure AD, Intune, and AvePoint Online Services.

• Assist with the security functionalities of AvePoint Online Services, including tenant-to-tenant considerations, Splunk Enterprise integration, bring-your-own-key configurations, IP restrictions, SFTP, and associated interfaces.

• Collaborate with systems support teams and technical staff to identify, mitigate, and document risks.

• Contribute to bi-weekly and monthly status reports, encompassing action items, risks, mitigations, escalations, accomplishments, and closures.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in supporting Microsoft 365 cloud-based services within a large corporate or government setting.

• Proven experience in supporting M365 security, compliance, governance, or privacy initiatives.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, Defender, Azure AD, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and related M365 security features.

• Experience in managing or supporting user permissions, data retention, compliance settings, and audit logging.

• Background in Power Platform security and governance principles.

• Proficiency in creating or supporting PowerShell scripts.

• Capable of troubleshooting technical and security issues across the M365 platform and AvePoint Online Services.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to complete IRS MBI/security onboarding and the necessary IRS security training.
