Security Software Engineer, IAM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the comprehensive IAM strategy for both corporate and production settings, defining the roadmap, standards, and architecture from start to finish.

• Transition Okta and all associated IAM configurations to Terraform, promoting infrastructure-as-code adoption and enhancing the engineering teams' proficiency in its application.

• Spearhead Vercel-on-Vercel initiatives and Vercel infrastructure cleanup projects, ensuring our internal systems uphold the same standards we provide to our customers.

• Design and implement least-privilege access controls across cloud, SaaS, and production environments.

• Collaborate with platform and engineering teams to integrate IAM best practices early in the design phase.

• Develop and manage MDM/MAM tools to secure endpoint and mobile device access across the organization.

• Propel automation in provisioning, deprovisioning, and access review workflows.

• Act as the IAM subject matter expert across Security, IT, and Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in identity, access management, or platform security engineering.

• Extensive knowledge of Okta, including SSO, MFA, lifecycle management, and API-driven automation.

• Proficient in Terraform and dedicated to managing IAM infrastructure as code.

• Experience in developing IAM strategies at scale across both corporate (IT/SaaS) and production (cloud infrastructure) settings.

• Practical experience with AWS or GCP IAM, including service accounts, roles, and workload identity federation.

• Familiarity with MDM/MAM solutions such as Jamf, Intune, or similar products.

• Strong collaborator capable of fostering alignment among Engineering, IT, Compliance, and Security teams.

• Adept at working independently and making decisions in a dynamic environment.
