Security Operations Center Analyst III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Receive, evaluate, and analyze endpoint and network alerts originating from enterprise sources.

• Identify the causes of alerts and detect unusual activities and potential threats.

• Recognize, assess, and notify on potential attacks, intrusions, abnormal activities, and misuse.

• Differentiate between security incidents and events versus benign activities.

• Correlate events by utilizing information from various enterprise sources.

• Evaluate situational awareness and the effectiveness of attacks observed.

• Act as an escalation point for SOC Analysts.

• Offer support and guidance to SOC Analysts.

• Manage and track security incidents until their final resolution.

• Develop and uphold incident response processes, procedures, and frameworks.

• Document and sustain a knowledge base of incident methodologies and strategic plans.

⛳️ Requirements

• Security certification is mandatory.

• At least 7 years of experience in IT.

• A minimum of 5 years in incident response.

• Security+, CEH, OSCP/OSCE, CISSP, CISA, or GIAC certifications are preferred.

• Over 5 years of experience in cybersecurity incident response.

• Strong background in networking and security, including intrusion detection and prevention.

• Comprehensive knowledge of IDS, IPS, EDR, SIEM, next-generation antivirus, and anomaly detection tools.

• Understanding of cyber attack phases, including reconnaissance, scanning, enumeration, gaining access, privilege escalation, maintaining access, network exploitation, and covering tracks.

• In-depth knowledge of the six phases of a cyber incident response plan.

• Broad understanding of application and IT product diversity and interoperability.

• Extensive expertise in IT security.

• Capability to configure and perform vulnerability scans using VM tools such as Tenable.io and Tanium.
