Security Expert

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with clients to grasp their security requirements, transforming them into actionable project plans that focus on Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, and IoT security solutions.

• Offer expert advice and strategic consulting to enhance clients’ cybersecurity maturity, ensuring that projects conform to industry best practices and Microsoft standards.

• Design, implement, and configure Microsoft Sentinel for centralized monitoring, detection, and response to threats.

• Deploy Microsoft Defender solutions to ensure strong endpoint protection, threat detection, and effective risk management across client environments.

• Support Data Security deployments utilizing Purview, applying best practices and an understanding of internal client classification requirements in line with compliance standards and practices.

• Specialize in one of the primary Microsoft security solutions—Sentinel, Defender, or Purview—while also maintaining a solid working knowledge of the others.

• Perform regular assessments of client environments, providing enhancements, updates, and recommendations based on current cybersecurity trends and emerging threats.

• Lead and execute complex, large-scale security projects with a strong emphasis on client needs, timelines, and quality benchmarks.

• Manage client expectations and effectively communicate project developments, keeping a client-focused approach toward project milestones and deliverables.

• Produce comprehensive technical documentation, project reports, and client handover materials to facilitate smooth transitions and ongoing support.

• Develop and present reports to stakeholders, delivering actionable insights and summaries on threat analysis, risk assessments, and security incidents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in cybersecurity consulting, with expertise in Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, and/or Purview security projects.

• Relevant certifications in Microsoft security technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst, Microsoft Certified: Security Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals) are highly preferred.

• Skilled in Microsoft Sentinel for SIEM solutions and/or the Microsoft Defender suite for endpoint security.

• Knowledge of Purview within common Data Compliance Frameworks and other Data Compliance technologies.

• Proven experience in a consulting role involving direct client interaction, project delivery, and a record of maintaining billable hours.

• Capability to analyze and interpret data to generate actionable insights and drive decision-making for security optimization.

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities, with the skill to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
