
Security Engineer III – Ransomware Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Assist in the development and daily implementation of the ransomware recovery governance program through hands-on process execution, updates to documentation, and technical validation tasks.
• Enforce and apply ransomware recovery maintenance policies by conducting configuration checks, verifying controls, and reviewing operational compliance.
• Organize and perform testing for safeguarded applications, which includes technical recovery validation, mapping dependencies, and analyzing test results.
• Create and implement the workflow for application review and onboarding, encompassing technical assessments, readiness evaluations, and support for control implementation.
• Establish and document the decision authority framework by collecting requirements, validating operational roles, and ensuring consistency with technical processes.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to enhance the ransomware incident response plan, leading technical exercises, simulations, and tabletop scenarios.
• Provide technical insights for future technology assessments, tool evaluations, and enhancements in ransomware resilience capabilities.
• Review and improve existing Security policies and standards, Backup and recovery strategies, and Risk management processes.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from an accredited four-year college or university.
• 5 to 8 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Build networks with senior personnel both internally and externally within their area of expertise.
• Exhibit good judgment in choosing methods and techniques for deriving solutions.
• Experience in system implementation, installation, and disaster preparedness.
