Security Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and create security control architectures and reference implementation patterns in accordance with ISO 27001:2022.

• Engineer and sustain assigned security controls across various domains such as Identity, Endpoint, Workloads, and Data.

• Develop, uphold, and operationalize security standards, baselines, and reference architectures.

• Conduct threat modeling (STRIDE) and risk assessments for new systems.

• Lead security discovery and integration efforts for both new and existing environments.

• Proactively seek out opportunities for security enhancements and carry out approved work items.

• Integrate and enhance security tools.

• Collaborate with Development and Application teams to incorporate security by design.

• Assist with audit and compliance activities related to ISO 27001:2022.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 6 years of experience in IT.

• More than 3 years in an IT Security or Security Engineering position.

• Strong practical knowledge of systems and infrastructure engineering, including Windows/Linux fundamentals, networking, cloud architecture, identity, and common enterprise services.

• Demonstrated ability to translate security enhancements into actionable work items.

• Experience in cloud security (Azure preferred).

• Proficient in scripting and using infrastructure as code for security automation and control deployment, including PowerShell, Terraform, and ARM/Bicep.

• Familiarity with a MDR/vSOC provider.

• Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts and their implementations.

• Practical knowledge of industry security frameworks and standards, including ISO 27001:2022 (preferred), NIST CSF, CIS Controls, and MITRE ATT&CK.

• Hands-on experience implementing security controls within Azure/M365 environments.
