Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and uphold a cloud security architecture centered on AWS, compliant with HIPAA, NIST, and HITRUST standards.

• Safeguard AWS environments utilizing IAM, Organizations, CloudTrail, Config, GuardDuty, Security Hub, KMS, and various network security measures.

• Construct, review, and sustain Infrastructure-as-Code through Terraform, ensuring that security controls are versioned, auditable, and enforced by default.

• Create secure Terraform modules, guardrails, and policy-as-code to avert misconfigurations and drift.

• Collaborate with Development and CloudOps teams to employ DevSecOps methodologies, including security measures for CI/CD pipelines and IaC scanning.

• Establish and oversee identity and access management standards across AWS and Microsoft Entra.

• Assist with SOC 2 Type II, HITRUST, HIPAA, and PCI audits, with a specific focus on cloud control documentation.

• Monitor cloud environments, assess security incidents, and collaborate with the MSP to respond effectively.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation regarding cloud security architecture, IaC standards, and incident response protocols.

• Offer security mentorship and provide cloud security expertise throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field of study.

• Over 3 years of practical security engineering experience with a strong emphasis on AWS.

• Hands-on expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.

• Experience in securing AWS workloads, encompassing compute, storage, and networking aspects.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Entra, Active Directory, and AWS IAM.

• Knowledge of HIPAA, NIST, SOC 2, and HITRUST security frameworks.

• Proficient in integrating security practices into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps procedures.

• Solid understanding of Windows operating systems and networking principles.
