Secondary Social Studies Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Provide motivation and support to students in their courses;

• Collaborate with a team of educators (both in-person and virtual) to ensure all students in the cohort remain on track and successfully progress through the program;

• Assist students with their daily assignments and projects to enhance understanding;

• Clarify instructions and provide individual or small group assistance with course content;

• Support Virtual Teachers in maintaining up-to-date student records and data, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance records, and all student and parent communications;

• Participate in the organization and administration of State Testing as directed;

• Implement educational programs developed through the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process for special education students;

• Assist in executing educational programs developed through a student 504 plan as needed;

• Maintain a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment at all times;

• Develop and apply strategies that promote student collaboration and teamwork;

• Attend assigned in-person/virtual field trip sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree;

• Middle/Secondary Teaching Certification: 1-8 License, 4-9 License, 7-12 License;

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills;

• Experience and demonstrated interest in working with youth (both those striving and those struggling) in a diverse urban setting;

• Previous experience in a school or educational environment;

• Strong multicultural competencies;

• Proficient technology skills, particularly with the internet, Microsoft OS, and MS Office programs;

• Customer-centric approach;

• Ability to motivate and assist students with high school coursework;

• High degree of flexibility;

• Proven ability to thrive in an innovative, fast-paced environment;

• Record of being a team player.
