This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead Agile ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and reviews with thorough preparation, precise time management, and a strong focus on outcomes over processes.
• Establish trust and psychological safety to foster honest retrospectives and ensure improvement actions are taken seriously.
• Transition sprint planning from discovery during meetings to alignment by handling administrative tasks and preparation work, including ticket reviews, agenda creation, and Jira organization.
• Ensure the health of the backlog: confirm that work is accurately categorized, sized, structured, and ready for commitment prior to entering a sprint.
• Implement and uphold standardized ticket structures, including consistent issue types, field usage, user story formats, acceptance criteria, spike success criteria, and bug reproduction steps.
• Monitor, analyze, and communicate sprint metrics such as velocity, rollover trends, and the comparison of estimated versus actual effort; identify patterns that enhance planning accuracy over time.
• Facilitate root-cause analysis for blockers and rollovers; ensure that discussions about carryovers lead to specific corrective actions.
• Identify and proactively address impediments that impact multiple teams, escalating to the Agile Practice Lead when broader organizational action is needed for resolution.
• Contribute to overall delivery standards by sharing effective practices, highlighting areas needing improvement, and assisting in the development of playbooks and templates that benefit all teams.
• Previous experience as a Scrum Master or Agile delivery lead supporting cross-functional product or technology teams.
• Interpersonal skills to quickly build trust within teams that may be skeptical, fatigued, or experiencing conflict.
• Proficient in Jira: managing backlogs, configuring workflows, automating processes, developing dashboards and reports, and maintaining clean and meaningful data.
• Ability to operate across multiple teams simultaneously, managing complex schedules and adapting your approach to teams at varying levels of maturity.
• A diagnostic mindset: capable of identifying patterns, asking insightful questions, and distinguishing between team, process, and organizational problems before deciding on a response.
