This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Provide proactive guidance curriculum to individuals and groups.
• Involve students in academic and career planning assessments, interpret results, and help students formulate a plan that leads to their success and timely graduation.
• Address individual and group needs through responsive counseling and programming.
• Review transcripts of transfer students and communicate appropriate course placements.
• Maintain and evaluate transcripts for current students and inform credit awarding procedures.
• Develop and uphold student graduation plans.
• Deliver career readiness curriculum and facilitate the development of career plans.
• Coordinate career fairs, graduate fairs, and special events focused on careers.
• Implement Life Skills curriculum.
• Create and sustain Student 504 plans.
• Analyze student data to offer insights on suitable academic programs and interventions.
• Travel as needed to support testing initiatives and school events within the state.
• Valid Texas School Counselor license.
• Must be a resident of Texas.
• Master's degree with one (1) year of prior experience in counseling and/or advisement OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with the ASCA model.
• Experience in K-12 online learning environments.
• Knowledge of OH CTE, including the establishment and maintenance of external partnerships.
• A solid understanding of Career and Technical Education (CTE), its indicators as measures of success, and the pathway approach in which CTE is implemented.
• Awareness of Local, State, and Federal laws as well as mandated reporting requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
• Capability to manage confidential information with responsibility and sound judgment.
• Competence in handling challenging or emotional situations and making evidence-based decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform well under pressure, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks to consistently meet deadlines.
• Customer service oriented.
• Capability to work independently while also contributing to team efforts.
• Must be able to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
