This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Arrange Medical Imaging appointments via inbound and outbound phone calls or in-person interactions.
• Deliver exceptional customer service within a dynamic environment.
• Monitor quality, productivity, and other essential performance indicators.
• Execute clerical tasks utilizing computers and various equipment.
• Learn and implement scheduling protocols along with patient preparation guidelines.
• Assist medical office staff with scheduling concerns.
• Coordinate Cardiopulmonary and echocardiogram procedures.
• Manage electronic and paper orders within Medical Imaging scheduling work queues.
• Collect, confirm, and update patient demographic and insurance details.
• Verify payors and check insurance eligibility.
• Ensure precise data entry and rectify any errors.
• Address urgent situations, troubleshoot problems, and escalate issues as required.
• Engage professionally with patients, colleagues, and referring office personnel.
• Guide new employees and document their training.
• Support other Scheduling areas and participate in the interview process when needed.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
• Adhere to Wellstar policies, work standards, and code of conduct.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in customer service or medical scheduling.
• Exceptional customer service abilities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Basic typing and data entry proficiency.
• Capability to communicate effectively and comprehend verbal and written English.
• Basic knowledge of insurance carriers and pre-certification preferred.
• Computer skills preferred.
• Familiarity with Medical Terminology preferred.
• High attention to detail and a low error rate.
• Consistent and reliable attendance.
• Flexibility in work hours to accommodate departmental requirements.
• Ability to accurately type and enter data into scheduling software.
• Understanding of Medical Imaging exams, modalities, patient preparations, and instructions.
• Knowledge of diagnosis codes and ICD-9/ICD-10 codes.
• Familiarity with insurance programs, Medicare guidelines, medical necessity checks, and pre-authorization/referrals.
• Understanding of EMR, fax, email, Image Now, and Trace.
• Must adhere to department dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
