This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary Salesforce architect on Patient Services projects, taking charge of the comprehensive solution design across Salesforce Health Cloud and Life Sciences Cloud (Patient Services), with potential extensions into Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud / Data 360, and MuleSoft as necessary.
• Develop and assess solution architecture for Patient Services scenarios, encompassing patient enrollment and onboarding, benefits verification, prior authorization, copay and financial assistance, hub case management, adherence and refill, field reimbursement, nurse case management, and patient/caregiver engagement.
• Oversee the design of data models across Health Cloud and Life Sciences Cloud Patient Services objects (such as Care Programs, Care Program Enrollees, Care Program Products, Care Plans, Care Requests, etc.), ensuring implementations are scalable, extensible, and aligned with the platform.
• Design security, sharing, and PHI handling architecture, which includes role hierarchy, sharing rules, restriction rules, field-level security, encryption, and audit logging suitable for HIPAA and regulated patient data.
• Architect integrations within the Patient Services ecosystem, connecting specialty pharmacy, hub vendors, EHR/EMR, payer and clearinghouse, benefits verification, copay vendors, and patient-facing channels (SMS, email, portal, IVR).
• Create HCP and patient portal experiences on Experience Cloud, focusing on authentication, authorization, identity, and patient/caregiver delegation methods.
• Provide direct technical leadership in areas such as configuration, Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, and integration design, reviewing code, design documents, and platform decisions to ensure quality and scalability.
• Facilitate technical discovery and architecture workshops with client stakeholders involved in patient services operations, IT, security, and compliance.
• Convert business and clinical requirements into practical, validated solution designs, balancing platform best practices with real-world delivery challenges.
• Create solution architecture documentation, which includes data model diagrams, integration architecture, security model, environment strategy, and architecture decision records (ADRs).
• Collaborate with BAs, developers, QA, and validation leads to ensure that solution designs are feasible, testable, and (when applicable) validatable under GxP and 21 CFR Part 11 standards.
• Guide developers, junior architects, and BAs on Health Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud, and Patient Services patterns, through design reviews, code reviews, and technical coaching.
• Assist in presales and solution development for Patient Services initiatives, including estimating level-of-effort, contributing to SOWs, responding to RFx, and delivering client architecture presentations.
• Remain updated on the Salesforce HLS roadmap (Life Sciences Cloud, Health Cloud, Agentforce for HLS, Data Cloud) and translate platform directions into insights for clients and internal Slipstream investments.
• Contribute to Slipstream’s Patient Services accelerators, reference architectures, and reusable assets to enhance delivery speed and quality across projects.
• Over 8 years of experience within the Salesforce ecosystem, including a minimum of 4 years in a hands-on Salesforce architect position.
• Required experience in the pharma, biotech, healthcare, or life sciences sectors, with direct delivery experience related to Patient Services, Patient Support Programs (PSPs), or Hub Services use cases.
• Required hands-on architectural experience with Salesforce Health Cloud and Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud (Patient Services), covering data model, security model, and integration design.
• Required Salesforce architect certification: Application Architect or System Architect (or active CTA pursuit). Component certifications like Data Architect, Sharing & Visibility Architect, Integration Architect, or Identity & Access Management Architect are also accepted for this track.
• Required Salesforce Platform Developer II (Senior Developer) certification.
• Strong hands-on technical expertise with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, Platform Events, and integration patterns (REST, SOAP, Platform Events, Streaming, Bulk).
• Extensive experience in designing integrations across Salesforce, MuleSoft (or similar iPaaS), EHR/EMR, specialty pharmacy, hub vendors, payer/clearinghouse, and patient-facing channels.
• In-depth understanding of PHI, HIPAA, consent, and regulated delivery practices, including documentation quality, traceability, and change control.
• Significant experience in designing Experience Cloud (previously Community Cloud) portals, focusing on authentication, identity, sharing, and delegated access patterns.
• Experience leading client-facing technical workstreams, including conducting architecture workshops, presenting to executive stakeholders, and managing technical scope and risk.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical decisions to business and clinical stakeholders.
• Limited travel of 10% or less.
