This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +4 more states.
• Oversee the design and enhancement of Salesforce solutions across three Biomedical services products.
• Champion engineering best practices by creating reusable design patterns, coding standards, architectural guidelines, and conducting technical quality reviews to enhance maintainability and minimize technical debt.
• Collaborate with solution, integration, and cross-functional technology teams to formulate scalable end-to-end solutions and guarantee seamless integration across enterprise platforms.
• Establish and manage technical definitions, guidelines, principles, and standards for teams.
• Evaluate, review, and make decisions regarding all solution architecture designs.
• Create engaging presentations, architectural blueprint documents, environment management plans, development policies, and participate in requirements-gathering workshops to influence project strategy and guide the business through solution design.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers/Owners, Business Stakeholders, and business analysts to understand customer needs and process flows, translating them into Salesforce technology solutions.
• Manage architecture documentation, including solution blueprints, integration designs, architecture decision records (ADRs), and technical standards.
• Convert business capabilities into scalable technical architectures and provide implementation guidance to engineering teams.
• Develop proofs of concept and reference implementations to validate architectural strategies and expedite delivery.
• Provide selective hands-on technical involvement to validate architecture and tackle complex design issues.
• Assess emerging technologies, including AI and Salesforce platform innovations, to improve business capabilities and foster continuous innovation.
• Offer thought leadership in leveraging technology to transform our service delivery.
• Remain informed about Salesforce releases, features, and best practices, and proactively suggest enhancements.
• Steer architectural decisions across multiple teams and present architecture choices and roadmaps to senior leadership.
• Mentor senior developers and technical leads through architecture reviews, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
• Design solutions considering operational monitoring, observability, logging, and production support aspects. Scope: Individual contributor working under limited supervision. Apply subject matter expertise. Ability to comprehend specific needs or requirements to utilize skills/knowledge.
• Education: 4-year college degree or a combination of education and experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of practical experience in Salesforce development and architecture.
• Expert-level knowledge of the Salesforce product suite.
• Extensive expertise in Salesforce architecture and code development for Sales, Service, and Experience Cloud.
• Strong prior development/Salesforce coding experience to advise on aspects like refactoring code to reduce technical debt and design patterns.
• Experience in designing and delivering comprehensive Salesforce solutions for large, complex implementations.
• Proven experience leading solution design sessions, with the ability to pose challenging questions during those sessions and recommend best practices and efficient business process implementations.
• Strong hands-on experience in Salesforce development and configuration, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, APIs, platform events, batch processing, and integrations.
• Ability to define the system landscape and identify gaps between the current and desired future state.
• Understanding of Salesforce architecture with the capability to design scalable solutions using industry best practices.
• Familiarity with platform authentication patterns (SAML, SSO, OAuth).
• Strong understanding and experience in Salesforce environment management, release management, deployment tools, code versioning best practices, and deployment methodologies.
• Knowledge of data sharing and visibility considerations and their impact on platform architecture.
• Strong analytical thinking and communication skills, capable of quickly learning complex business and product domains, collaborating across teams, and confidently driving alignment and decision-making.
• Salesforce Certified Application Architect or Salesforce Certified System Architect certification is required.
