Salesforce Release Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Define and oversee the scope, schedules, and quality of releases.

• Collaborate with Project Management and development teams across various projects to coordinate and plan product deployment, managing conflicts and dependencies.

• Assess the impact of Salesforce releases and fixes on configuration and custom code; work alongside the system administrator and development team to address any issues.

• Communicate the implications of Salesforce releases and custom deployments, environment refreshes, release schedules, release status, release scope, and escalate any issues and risks.

• Create and maintain a repository for release procedures, release logs, and release artifacts.

• Oversee the change control process. Manage production backups, sandbox refreshes, and continually enhance release processes.

• Plan and enforce best practices for the release lifecycle, including version controls, branching, and code merges.

• Package and deploy custom configurations and code.

• Lead the planning and delivery of high-quality enterprise IT software releases.

• Manage release schedules and milestones effectively.

• Assemble and direct multiple cross-functional teams to support IT application releases of various sizes, complexities, and durations.

• Collaborate with all IT functions and business stakeholders to manage release processes.

• Oversee change control processes for releases.

• Continuously seek improvements in release processes.

• Implement best practices aligned with an agile development methodology.

• Define and manage readiness and success criteria for releases based on business requirements.

• Proactively identify and mitigate risks, removing obstacles to release.

• Guide the completion of root cause analyses to prevent issue recurrence.

• Conduct environment planning, provisioning, and management to support releases.

• Provide oversight for the deployment of releases into production environments, ensuring release readiness and a proper handoff of deployment runlists to Service Delivery.

• Communicate plans and statuses while escalating issues as needed.

• Advance the CI/CD maturity journey of the Salesforce/CRM Platform.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience with SFDC Admin/Developer roles.

• Experience implementing complex Salesforce DevOps architectures utilizing industry-standard commercial and open-source tools, preferably Copado.

• A proven track record of delivering reliable mission-critical automations.

• Active participation in DevOps-driven development on the Salesforce platform.

• Strong understanding and experience with GitHub tools and techniques.

• Proficient in Salesforce configuration, scripting, and customization techniques.

• Extensive knowledge and experience in CI/CD deployment practices.

• In-depth knowledge of code deployment version conflict resolution.

• Strong IT governance and service change management experience.

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
