This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Prospecting in new markets and identifying potential customers
• Proficiency in closing sales deals
• Prompt and responsive follow-up with clients
• Expertise in negotiation techniques
• Emphasis on selling value to clients
• Collaborating with and inspiring distribution partners
• Managing a current territory valued at $2-3 million, shared with the existing sales manager
• Short to mid-term business potential estimated at $1-2 million over the next 1-3 years
• Bachelor's degree, with a strong preference for a technical degree in Chemistry
• At least 3 years of sales experience
• Experience in team-based selling, including Sales, Technical, or Product Management roles
• Required experience in the chemical industry; experience in performance chemicals is a plus
• Preferred product line experience includes: • Specialty additives for industrial and automotive markets in general • Defoamers/antifoams applicable to various uses • Silicone release agents
• Residence in the Midwest region is necessary, preferably in Michigan, Illinois, or surrounding states
• Willingness to travel 60% of the time, with 3 out of 5 days spent in the home office, flying once a month, and up to two weeks of overnight travel each month
• Basic understanding of regulations and compliance in industrial and automotive markets is preferred
