This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Identifying and pursuing new markets and customers
• Proven ability to close sales effectively
• Prompt and responsive follow-up with clients
• Exceptional negotiation skills
• Focus on selling value to customers
• Collaborating with and inspiring distribution teams
• Manage a current territory valued at $2-3 million, shared with the existing sales manager
• Short to mid-term business potential estimated between $1-2 million (within the next 1-3 years)
• Bachelor’s degree; a technical degree in Chemistry is highly preferred
• A minimum of 3 years of sales experience
• Experience in team-based selling, including sales, technical, or product management roles
• Required experience in the chemical industry; experience in performance chemicals is a plus
• Preferred product line experience includes: Specialty additives for industrial and automotive markets, defoamers/antifoams for various applications, and silicone release agents
• Residency in the Midwest region is essential, with a preference for candidates from Michigan, Illinois, and neighboring states
• Willingness to travel 60% of the time in the field (3 out of 5 days in the home office, with monthly flying and possible overnight travel of up to two weeks)
• A basic understanding of industrial and automotive market regulations and compliance is preferred
