Safety Observer – Patient Attendant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Engaging in constant and direct observation of the patient through approved telehealth technology.

• Monitoring alterations in the patient's physical, emotional, and mental state virtually.

• Communicating the patient's status, including any changes, to both the bedside nursing team and virtual nursing team.

• Observing and documenting behavioral changes in patients.

• Recording observations in the electronic health record.

• Escalating unsafe situations through alarms or redirections.

• Monitoring patients who are in seclusion and/or restraint.

• Collaborating with bedside and virtual nursing staff on the patient's safety care plan.

• Participating in the review of activities and processes within the work area; assisting in implementing changes to foster continuous improvement in the services offered.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.

• Experience in an in-patient hospital setting is preferred.

• Enrollment in nursing or medical programs is strongly preferred.

• Being listed on the Nurse Aid Registry of North Carolina is preferred.

• BLS certification must be maintained or completed by the end of the new hire orientation.

• CPI certification is strongly preferred.

• Proficiency in technology skills.

• Understanding of basic first aid and CPR is essential.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.

• Good physical strength and stamina are required.

• Familiarity with procedures and techniques involved in administering routine treatments to patients.
