Rust Engineer – Data Interoperability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient code using the Rust programming language.

• Support the establishment of best practices for development, testing, and deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Vision, or a related field, or equivalent professional or open-source experience.

• 1 - 2 years of proven experience with Rust and 5 years of experience in data interoperability/image processing.

• Proficient in the Rust programming language within a production setting.

• Knowledge of medical data interoperability standards, such as DICOM or FHIR.

• A solid understanding of image processing, image compression, and data serialization principles.

• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Competent debugging and testing skills.

• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

• Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team.

• A demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative attitude.

• Availability during Central European Time (CET) business hours.

• Experience in Python programming.

• Knowledge of web frameworks such as Axum and web APIs (e.g., REST, RESTful, GraphQL).

• Understanding of fundamental networking concepts, including TCP/IP, TLS encryption, and DNS.

• Exposure to computer vision techniques, whether traditional or machine-learning based.
