This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Support Release of Information Specialists, Quality Control, Customer Service, and Billing & Collections in addressing issues related to the fulfillment of Release of Information requests for patient medical records.
• Assist Release of Information Specialists in resolving challenges associated with the fulfillment of medical records requests.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other applicable state and federal laws when releasing medical records.
• Conduct data entry and implement quality control measures for the fulfillment of medical records requests.
• Collaborate with Customer Service and other departments to provide answers to inquiries and resolve issues.
• Investigate and swiftly resolve workflow and record issues to minimize turnaround delays.
• Identify and escalate critical issues to management as necessary.
• Safeguard the privacy of patient, employee, and volunteer information, accessing it solely on a need-to-know basis.
• Report any unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful behaviors or activities.
• Engage in mandatory training for corporate compliance and specific role functions.
• At least 6 months of experience with Sharecare HDS in Quality Control, Credit & Collections, or Customer Service is required; 1 year or more is preferred.
• Proficient in using internal electronic-based record workflow systems such as BactesInMotion, Record Management, Intranet, Exceptions Management, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated reliability, productivity, and professionalism.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Capacity to work independently and maintain productivity with minimal supervision.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Physical capability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Manual dexterity and strength adequate for prolonged computer keyboard use, writing notes, and handling paperwork and supplies.
• Sufficient eyesight to read documents and accurately interpret information displayed on computer monitors.
• Adequate speaking and hearing abilities for effective communication.
• Necessary eye-hand coordination, hearing, and visual acuity for daily tasks.
• Maintain current and annual HIPAA certification.
• Comprehensive understanding of the organization’s information governance program and specific role responsibilities.
