This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the complete deployment lifecycle for designated retail locations: including pre-deployment verification, coordination of physical installations, network setup, digital configurations, and transition to operations. Ensure quality and timelines are met for each deployment.
• Verify that all site requirements are satisfied before deployment — encompassing network credentials, docking locations, definitions for traversal areas, and hardware readiness. Proactively identify and address any blockers to safeguard deployment schedules.
• Manage remote contractors via chat and voice throughout the physical installation phase. Provide prompt and clear support to field teams while ensuring adherence to deployment procedures.
• Set up robots for new sites, which involves configuring traversal patterns, managing schedules, and mapping routes. Assess initial performance against established quality benchmarks for decode accuracy, out-of-stock detection, price validation, location coverage, and upload speed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network connectivity, hardware, and software that may arise during deployment. Systematically identify root causes and escalate with comprehensive documentation as necessary.
• Create scripts, workflow automations, or lightweight internal tools aimed at minimizing manual tasks in the deployment process — including pre-deployment checklists, status tracking, configuration validation, and reporting. Leverage AI-assisted development to expedite tooling where applicable.
• Establish and uphold quality assurance checks for deployment readiness and initial operational performance. Recognize patterns in deployment failures and develop mechanisms for detection or prevention.
• Keep accurate records of deployments, issues, and resolutions in Jira and Confluence. Actively contribute to deployment playbooks and consistently enhance procedures based on insights from the field.
• Background in technical operations, deployment, or field support roles in robotics, retail technology, IoT, or a related field.
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities for network, software, and hardware problems.
• Capable of managing multiple simultaneous deployments and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Proven experience utilizing scripting (Python, bash, or similar) or automation tools to minimize manual operational tasks.
• Proficiency in Linux-based systems and fundamental networking (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, VPN).
• Experience with AI tools to enhance investigation, analysis, or workflow automation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with remote field teams and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Opsgenie).
