This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mississippi.

📋 Description

• Conduct proactive and prospective audits, as well as retrospective and defense audits, alongside targeted and ad hoc charge capture audits.

• Collaborate with clinical staff during the audit process.

• Organize and formulate action plans for audits.

• Present findings during the Chart Audit Committee meetings.

• Consult with clinical departments to confirm that charges and medical documentation are accurate and comprehensive for Health Information Management (HIM) and billing purposes.

• Support special projects as needed.

• Deliver internal training to promote revenue-cycle competency and ensure compliance.

• Execute defensive and charge capture auditing responsibilities.

• Manage all elements of the Chart Audit Committee.

• Share audit outcomes with relevant stakeholders.

• Address assigned pre-bill and post-bill edit inquiries.

• Tailor communication and patient interactions based on the specific patient demographics.

• Stay informed about applicable federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Report any known or suspected unethical behavior, questionable practices, safety issues, privacy breaches, or compliance concerns.


⛳️ Requirements

• A degree from an accredited nursing program.

• A valid registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant healthcare experience, or 3 years with a master's degree.

• Competency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capability to present information clearly and professionally to various audience levels.

• Excellent conflict resolution skills.

• Proficient presentation skills.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including 24/7 availability, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.

• Ability to travel between and within facilities.

• Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as accreditation standards and regulatory agency guidelines.

• Comfort working with patients who may have communicable diseases and entering isolation rooms.

• Ability to operate in a healthcare environment with potential exposure to hazardous medications or waste.
