This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and second line of defense (2LOD) teams to create and execute data-driven, risk-based KYC/KYB frameworks and compliance controls for our Treasury, Capital, and Issuing products.

• Develop and document compliant, scalable funds flow models for global payment networks (e.g., SEPA, FPS, ACH, RTP), converting intricate network regulations into technical specifications for engineering teams.

• Create and maintain technical compliance documentation, transforming complex regulatory requirements (e.g., U.S. lending laws, payment network regulations) into actionable guidance for product and engineering teams.

• Cultivate relationships and foster alignment among a diverse range of cross-functional stakeholders, including Legal, Customer Support, Partnerships, and 2LOD Compliance, ensuring all perspectives are considered and decisions are made efficiently.

• Engage with external financial partners, showcasing Stripe's compliance controls and strategies to build trust and confidence.

• Leverage your expertise across new regions and payment schemes, rapidly adapting to new regulatory and technical environments to facilitate Stripe's international growth.

• Employ data to guide risk strategy, compliance solutions, and decision-making by sourcing and analyzing product and user data to assess control effectiveness.


⛳️ Requirements

• 5 years of professional experience in compliance, product risk, technical compliance, audit, or related risk roles within a FinTech, payment provider, or banking environment.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and executing risk-based KYC and KYB programs for business or merchant onboarding.

• Proven track record of working at a technical level with product managers and engineers, capable of designing solutions and drafting technical requirements documentation.

• Successful history in managing complex projects involving multiple cross-functional stakeholders, fostering consensus, and managing expectations effectively.

• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with experience directly engaging with external partners and instilling confidence.

• Proficient in sourcing and utilizing data to analyze challenges, guide strategic decisions, and evaluate control effectiveness.

• Capability to navigate ambiguous situations and operate efficiently and autonomously in a fast-paced, high-volume, technology-driven environment.

• A strong respect for and interest in financial regulations, coupled with a desire to innovate and advance the financial technology sector.
