Risk & Controls Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.

📋 Description

• Assist in the continuous enhancement of Centrapay / Payap’s control framework.

• Create and evaluate controls to address risk gaps.

• Develop practical assurance strategies for a dynamic fintech environment.

• Oversee control remediation and conduct regular testing cycles.

• Maintain documentation and evidence for compliance activities.

• Generate reports on risks, controls, and compliance.

• Analyze anomalies, trends, and gaps in data.

• Support the requirements for regulatory and governance reporting.

• Promote automation in assurance and measurement processes.

• Assist with audits, accreditations, and compliance programs.

• Coordinate the collection of evidence across various teams.

• Keep compliance registers, databases, and records updated.

• Aid in security risk assessments for systems and vendors.

• Monitor vulnerability management and remediation efforts.

• Lead risk workshops and maintain comprehensive risk records.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in risk management, information security, or technology risk.

• Background in financial services or a regulated fintech environment.

• Capability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams, communicating technical concepts in an accessible manner.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in identifying patterns and inconsistencies in data.

• A mindset geared towards process improvement.

• Exceptional communication skills.

• No prior payments experience necessary — we will support your learning.

• Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST CSF, or similar risk frameworks is a plus.

• Experience with GRC or ISMS platforms is advantageous.

• Knowledge of PCI DSS, CPS 234, or open banking/CDR compliance environments is beneficial.

• A relevant degree or certification in risk, audit, information security, or a related field (e.g., CISA, CRISC) is a plus.
