Risk Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support for organization-wide risk assessments, structured risk interviews, and the upkeep of the enterprise risk register.

• Investigate the regulatory, contractual, operational, financial, legal, and reputational consequences of identified risks.

• Perform environmental scans of enforcement actions, OIG work plans, CMS guidance, state regulatory activities, and emerging industry risks.

• Assist in the development of enterprise risk profiles, risk scoring methodologies, recommendations for mitigation, control effectiveness assessments, and evaluations of residual risk.

• Conduct research on healthcare regulations, enforcement trends, litigation, settlements, corrective action plans, Corporate Integrity Agreements, audit results, and industry best practices.

• Create evidence-based summaries and suggestions for leadership.

• Maintain a repository for research, source materials, analyses, and conclusions.

• Collaborate with Legal, Corporate Compliance, Operations, Information Security, Human Resources, and other subject matter experts.

• Assist in the intake, documentation, triage, classification, and monitoring of incidents, audit results, control deficiencies, and corrective action plans.

• Engage in root cause analysis and identify recurring findings throughout the organization.

• Oversee the implementation of corrective actions and escalate any overdue or ineffective remediation efforts.

• Aid in the planning and coordination of regulatory, client, external, and SOC audits.

• Contribute to audit deliverables and help create dashboards, reports, and governance materials for executive leadership and compliance committees.

• Analyze trends across audits, investigations, incidents, and risk assessments.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree is required in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Health Policy, Compliance, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.

• A minimum of five years of relevant experience in healthcare compliance, public health, research, quality, analytics, audit, or risk management; or two years of relevant professional experience combined with a Master's degree in a related field.

• Significant professional experience may be considered in place of a professional degree.

• Strong research and analytical skills are essential.

• Knowledge of healthcare compliance, Medicaid, public health, healthcare policy, or regulatory frameworks is required.

• Experience in evaluating regulatory guidance, enforcement actions, or healthcare policies is necessary.

• Exceptional written communication and technical writing abilities are required.

• Strong data analysis and reporting skills are a must.

• Ability to assess control design and effectiveness is crucial.

• Excellent organizational and project management capabilities are essential.

• A mindset characterized by curiosity, critical thinking, and a commitment to continuous improvement is preferred.

• Experience in conducting healthcare regulatory research is strongly preferred.

• Experience with Medicaid or consumer-directed services is preferred.

• Occasional business travel may be required.

• A Master of Public Health, Master of Health Administration, Master of Public Policy, Juris Doctor, or a similar graduate degree is highly preferred.
