This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Achieves annual revenue targets through consultative sales to new clients and the expansion of service offerings to existing clients.
• Demonstrates thought leadership and industry involvement through associations, participation in speaking panels, and showcases expertise in selected industry verticals.
• Creates an annual Individual Sales Plan (ISP) with a pipeline coverage ratio of 5X or one that aligns with current company metrics to ensure consistent achievement of stated goals.
• Develops an active pipeline of qualified prospects, generating leads through personal contacts, client referrals, prospect pursuit campaigns (PPCs), and other Relation colleagues and marketing sources.
• Records new business activities in Relation’s sales tracking system.
• Effectively closes new business, documenting won/loss opportunities and the reasons for all clients in Relation’s sales tracking system.
• Develops and presents tailored recommendations to clients using a consultative selling approach.
• Evaluates and identifies risk issues, needs, and potential uninsurable or difficult-to-insure exposures for clients.
• Advises and assists clients with technical services, including loss control and claims advocacy programs, utilizing our in-house teams.
• Ensures a smooth transition for sold clients to the designated client service/account management team.
• Acts as a trusted advisor to clients, fostering a strategic and personal relationship with key decision-makers.
• Communicates with leadership, providing field insights on market trends, competitor analysis, and other business intelligence.
• A Property and Casualty Insurance License is required and must be maintained.
• A college degree or a minimum of 2 years of sales experience in the insurance industry is preferred.
• Experience working with complex commercial coverage is essential.
• Strong negotiation skills are necessary.
• A proactive problem solver who works effectively with diverse personalities to secure sales.
• A comprehensive understanding of insurance markets, products, and their applications, as well as insurance rating and underwriting procedures, is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to convey complex coverage information are mandatory.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) is necessary.
• Must have computer literacy with the capability to learn new software applications.
