Rigging Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Stay updated on cutting-edge character animation and rigging techniques, including advancements in AI/ML.

• Utilize your experience in film, television, and gaming animation and rigging to effectively summarize customer needs and objectives into clear themes, epics, and user stories.

• Break down overall project objectives into prioritized deliverables.

• Collaborate closely with product management to ensure that product development remains aligned with broader business objectives.

• Prioritize user stories to facilitate sequential and focused progress for the team, while balancing the needs of various stakeholders.

• Gather and respond to feedback from customers and stakeholders, adjusting feature scope, timelines, and deliverable priorities as necessary.

• Ensure transparency, alignment, and comprehension of team focus and direction across all stakeholders.

• Be available to team members to clarify and explain project goals, priorities, and constraints.

• Emphasize the importance of quality over quantity, ensuring that the team remains focused on delivering high-quality work to all stakeholders.

• Ensure that new work adheres to established standards and meets design specifications.

• Confirm that new work achieves performance goals and metrics.

• Manage the product backlog, practicing just-in-time grooming. Write stories and acceptance criteria as needed, delegate when appropriate, but maintain high story quality and readiness throughout.

• Encourage creativity and innovation within the team.

• Conduct product discovery when suitable to integrate insights from existing and potential customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-8+ years of experience in film, television, or game production, working as a Rigger and closely collaborating with Animators.

• A deep understanding and perspective on customer challenges related to Character Rigging and Animation, with the ability to contribute effectively to solutions.

• Experience in creating and/or utilizing AI/ML tools in character authoring and related areas.

• Strong interest in developing elegant solutions and tools to enhance the character production process and significantly impact the entertainment industry.

• Proven capability to work within cross-functional teams on large-scale productions and/or projects.

• Demonstrated inclusivity with exceptional collaboration skills.
