Revenue Recovery Specialist I – Patient Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Evaluates and validates claims payments against payer contract stipulations to ensure compliance with payer requirements.

• Operates within the payment variance work queue to pinpoint payer-specific trends.

• Escalates significant and recurring issues to the Revenue Recovery Specialist II and Supervisor.

• Works in partnership with hospital follow-up and denial teams to resolve reimbursement-related inquiries.

⛳️ Requirements

• One to two years of experience in a hospital or physician medical claims processing, insurance billing, or insurance collections setting.

• Requires familiarity with Third Party Reimbursement and Contracts.

• Must be highly detail-oriented with a comprehensive understanding of the insurance claim life cycle, including the ability to interpret payer 835 data.

• Should demonstrate strong analytical abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and the capability to interact with various departments within the revenue cycle.

• Must possess organizational skills, along with the ability to analyze reports and interpret diverse reimbursement models.
