This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Post insurance payments, adjustments, and patient payments to accounts.
• Review and reconcile Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs).
• Identify and resolve discrepancies and denials in payments through exception reports.
• Request refunds and process write-offs in accordance with practice policies.
• Maintain documentation regarding payment posting activities.
• Communicate with insurance companies about payment-related issues.
• Balance payment batches and reconcile daily deposits.
• Execute month-end closing procedures and prepare financial reports.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports related to payments.
• Utilize eCW, payer portals, Excel, Word, and other systems for payment posting and reconciliation.
• Collaborate with billing, accounts receivable, and other team members effectively.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), company guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace are essential.
• Proficiency in computer usage, data entry, file management, and web navigation.
• Above-average typing skills are necessary.
• Recent experience in payment posting within a medical billing office or centralized billing office (CBO) is preferred, particularly in high-volume and/or multi-account settings.
• Ability to manage a high workload while maintaining detail and accuracy.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills are required.
• Capability to organize and manage multiple priorities independently.
• Ability to work autonomously with customers and insurance companies in a high-pressure environment while ensuring excellent customer service.
• Basic math skills and accuracy in processing monetary transactions are essential.
• Familiarity with office equipment, including multi-line phone systems and calculators.
• Proficient in MS Office products and EMR/EPM systems.
• Experience with the eClinicalWorks Practice Management system is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret an EOB.
• Basic understanding of payer fee schedules is advantageous.
• Capability to sit for extended periods and frequently use computers and phones.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy is necessary.
• Ability to work independently and self-serve.
• Excellent organizational skills are required.
• Good leadership, interpersonal, and communication abilities are essential.
• Fully remote position.
• Daytime schedule from Monday to Friday.
• No travel is required.
• Occasional after-hours meetings may be necessary.
