This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +4 more states.
β’ Mainly accountable for efficient billing and collections for all ENT Specialty Partners locations.
β’ Capable of resolving claim issues by applying knowledge of company policies and procedures, medical coding, insurance reimbursement practices, and collection laws.
β’ This role entails managing all accounts receivable follow-up, including denials, reconsiderations, and appeals.
β’ Responsible for precise data entry of information into the computer system.
β’ Offer reimbursement support to patients while ensuring excellent customer service and respect towards patients and their families.
β’ Adhere to appropriate HIPAA guidelines when providing medical records to primary care providers, insurance carriers, referred providers, and patients upon request.
β’ Thrive both individually and within a team environment to achieve established goals.
β’ Ensure timely and accurate processing of all patient transactions, including billing, invoices, and insurance claims.
β’ Monitor claim statuses and proactively contact and follow up with insurance carriers regarding denials.
β’ Respond to correspondence related to patient accounts.
β’ Post charges, payments, adjustments, and related activities in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
β’ Collaborate with providers, as needed, to address incomplete information to ensure accurate account and claim adjudication.
β’ Answer phone calls, take messages, and return calls as necessary.
β’ Maintain confidentiality at all times.
β’ Perform additional related duties as assigned.
β’ High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of recent experience in medical billing and collections is necessary.
β’ Experience with the eClinicalWorks (eCW) billing system is preferred.
β’ Understanding of medical claims and coding is essential.
β’ Prior experience in medical billing and collections within a physician office setting is preferred.
β’ Basic math skills to accurately process monetary transactions (must be able to read and understand an Explanation of Benefits (EOB)).
β’ Familiarity with office equipment including multi-functional printer/copier/fax, multi-line phone system, calculator, postage machine, etc.
β’ Must possess proficiency in computer skills, data entry, and above-average typing skills.
β’ Experience with MS Office, EMR/EPM systems, and eClinicalworks is a plus.
β’ Prior experience in the ENT specialty is an advantage.
