Revenue Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the complete revenue accounting process for a rapidly expanding SaaS company, ensuring adherence to ASC 606 standards.

• Manage and uphold precise ARR, MRR, churn, expansion, and other related SaaS metrics, ensuring consistency between ARR, billings, and revenue.

• Act as the main administrator for Maxio, overseeing billing setups, revenue schedules, reporting, and system integrations.

• Oversee the entire invoicing process, guaranteeing accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with customer contracts and pricing agreements.

• Handle customer collections, addressing AR aging, follow-ups, dispute resolutions, and collaborating with Sales and Customer Success to promote timely cash collection.

• Manage vendor setup procedures, ensuring precision, completeness, and compliance with internal controls and approval workflows.

• Oversee revenue, billing, and accounts receivable across various legal entities and currencies, including appropriate foreign exchange treatment.

• Lead revenue-related tasks for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.

• Prepare revenue and AR schedules while serving as a vital contact for external audits.

• Review customer contracts alongside Legal, Sales, and Deal Desk to ensure accurate revenue recognition and billing treatment.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, RevOps, Sales, Legal, and Customer Success to aid in forecasting, reporting, and operational decisions.

• Identify and execute process enhancements and automation opportunities to scale revenue, billing, and AR operations.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation, policies, and controls to ensure a SOX-compliant and audit-ready environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of progressive accounting experience, particularly within the SaaS sector.

• Strong proficiency in revenue accounting and ARR metrics.

• Hands-on experience with Maxio software.

• Demonstrated experience in multi-entity and multi-currency environments.

• In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 standards.

• Experience managing invoicing, collections, and accounts receivable.

• Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets.

• Exceptional attention to detail with the capability to work independently.

• Strong grasp of accounting standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA/CMA certification preferred but not mandatory.
