Revenue Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee revenue and billing operations: Manage the entire recurring billing process, including commission and agency invoicing, as well as the inputs for usage-based billing, ensuring invoices are raised accurately each cycle.

• Month-end accountability: Collaborate with the Head of Finance and the team to ensure timely month-end closure.

• Data validation and anomaly detection: Develop and implement your own checks on the usage data that informs billing.

• Liaison with the data team: Convert business and billing requirements into precise, well-defined specifications that the data and engineering teams can execute.

• Accounts receivable management: Monitor receivables, follow up on outstanding payments, and maintain an updated overview of who owes what.

• Support for audits and reconciliations: Prepare schedules and reconciliations, and assist the team during external audits.

⛳️ Requirements

• A background in finance or accounting (either qualified or part qualified), with practical experience in billing, revenue operations, or month-end closing.

• Proficient in cloud accounting software.

• Strong data analysis and Excel skills: adept at handling large datasets, performing reconciliations, and conducting data validation checks.

• Proven experience collaborating with data or technical teams, effectively translating business needs into technical specifications.

• Excellent written and spoken English skills.

• Experience working remotely in a startup or rapidly growing environment.

• Familiarity with SaaS or usage-based billing models.

• Experience with consolidation or reporting tools, as well as BI or dashboarding solutions.

• Knowledge of Gulf finance regulations (VAT, withholding tax, e-invoicing).
