This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Conduct scheduled diabetic eye examinations and retinal screenings at healthcare provider locations.
• Travel to both provider locations and patients' homes for appointments that have been prearranged.
• Utilize retinal imaging equipment provided by the company.
• Assist in closing any gaps related to eye exams and quality measures.
• Complete the training provided by the company prior to conducting exams independently.
• Maintain skills through continuous training and education.
• Oversee daily scheduling of eye exam appointments.
• Confirm appointments with both practices and patients.
• Organize travel logistics for appointments.
• Develop and sustain relationships with colleagues, customers, providers, payers, and care teams.
• Engage virtually with team members and stakeholders on days without scheduled appointments.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, reporting, patient outreach, and customer success efforts.
• Adhere to security protocols protecting PHI, PII, and the company's intellectual property.
• Must be willing and able to travel daily, up to 100%, to provider practices.
• No previous experience in eye exams or imaging is necessary; comprehensive training and equipment will be provided.
• A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation are required.
• An associate degree or higher in a relevant field is preferred.
• At least 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare environment is necessary.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, quality measures, medical billing, or coding is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and healthcare-related systems or applications is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities are necessary.
• Capability to meet strict deadlines is required.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with management, colleagues, customers, providers, payers, and care teams is essential.
• Capacity to work independently in a remote setting is necessary.
• Candidates must reside locally in the Birmingham, AL area.
• Must provide an internet connection with a minimum of 100 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed.
• Having a certified or licensed healthcare professional credential such as CMA or LPN is desirable.
• The company covers travel to and from appointments.
• Travel time is compensated.
• Mileage and travel expenses related to eye exam visits are covered by the company.
